TODAY’S YOUTH?

Today’s youth are intelligent than yesterdays. May be true. Today they have more opportunities and facilities to learn many things, for good or bad. There is a saying that
“To learn good it will take time, bad will come fast.” So our youth of today should be very careful in selecting the path of their life.

When the whole world is changing, we also should change. It is a must for progress. But that does not mean a complete upside down change. Our’s is a great country. We have great traditions, rich culture and values. Seers, saints and philosophers of yore, from our country taught many good values to the world. Lord Buddha’s peace, Vivekananda’s powerful spiritual heroism and mahatma Gandhi’s non-violence are more relevant, not only for us but also for the whole world now also.

Our people especially the youth are changing. Changing fast. They thing that to be modern they should change. There is change in their attire, their attitude, behavior, their outlook towards moral values and ethics of our culture. They look life differently. despair

There is a growing feeling of despair among the people about the change in our youth. Do our youth select the right direction for the change? Again it is a debatable question.

They prefer good education. They work hard. They earn well. They spend more to enjoy life. In young age itself they buy house, car and all luxurious things money can get. They feel secure. They move with confidence. They move freely and socialize with friends and colleagues. They donate blood.

Then what is wrong with them? Is there anything to worry? Yes. Something is there to worry!

They are losing their sense of belonging. They are becoming self-centered. They are not prepared to sacrifice even for their near and dear for their own good. They are proud of earning much, They think that they know everything and there is no need for them to listen anything from anybody and care anybody. They do not give much to relationship, sentiments and values. They thing they are practical. They think life is to enjoy. But how?

They are not sensitive to the surroundings. They do not want to think about this country, it’s poor people, poverty, ignorance, illiteracy and sufferings. They don’t want to know about our selfish politicians, corruption, political erosion, corrupting cinemas, degenerating moral values, communal clashes, voilance, terrorism and many ills affecting the very foundation of our nation.

Mere economic freedom without a morally disciplined society is not real progress. We need a change, a change for better and best. Robust new resurgence in thoughts and actions are required for our emerging nation. We need strong selfless young new leaders to guide our nation for progress. Our youth should come forward to take the responsibility.

Our younger generation should show more interest and take active participation in nation building. They are duty bound to do good to their motherland and the society. They should not waste their energy in useless pursuits. They should be ready to sacrifice their comforts for the nation. Our youth can do it. They can create a new world order of peace and prosperity. ARISE, AWAKE, STOP NOT TILL YOU REACH THE GOAL.
